DeMarcus Cousins Has Historic Night

DeMarcus Cousins has been known to fill up a stat sheet and boy did he ever on Monday night.

Cousins led the Pelicans to a 132-128 double overtime victory over the Bulls in New Orleans and in the process accomplished a stat line that hasn’t been seen in the NBA since the Big Mac was first invented, Rosemary’s Baby, The Graduate and Bonnie and Clyde (the original) were dominating the box office.

Cousins became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968 to have a 40 point, 20 rebound, 10 assist game. He had 44 points, 24 rebounds and 10 assists.

Cousins became the 10th player in NBA history to accomplish the feat, more people than you would expect considering it hasn’t happened since 1968:

Cousins is having the best year of his career thus far this season, is playing on his first winning team (25-21) and will have his 1st All-Star start next month.

He is averaging 25.6 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists on 46% shooting from the field and 35% shooting from three-point range this season.
