Marcus Peters, the Los Angeles Rams cornerback, has received a $13,000 fine from the NFL for his crotch-grabbing touchdown celebration during his team’s 33-13 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Monday night.

Peters intercepted a pass late in the fourth quarter and ran 50 yards to the end zone to seal the win. After his touchdown he leapt backward across the goal line, a move running back Marshawn Lynch popularized.

Lynch was fined multiple times for the goal-line celebration so there was some question as to whether or not Peters was mocking Oakland or potentially mocking Marshawn Lynch with his celebration. Turns out Peters was in fact paying homage to Lynch, who is one of his close friends.

“I did the Beast Mode,” Peters said after the game. “That’s what I did.”

Marcus Peters will be eligible to play in Week 2 versus the Arizona Cardinals.
