The New York Giants have traded defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison to the Detroit Lions for a fifth-round draft pick.

The Giants have just traded Eli Apple to the Saints on Tuesday making Harrison the second essential defensive player traded in the past 24 hours.

Harrison, a first-team All-Pro selection in 2016, has proven durable on his seven-year career, appearing in 87 games with 86 starts since the 2013 season.

Damon Harrison spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets, breaking into the league as an undrafted free agent and now by parting ways with him, who had three years remaining on his contract, the Giants also freed up more than $8 million under the salary cap in 2019.
