With a 3pm NHL trade deadline on Monday, Mark Stone, Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel were all scratched for last night’s game against the New Jersey Devils.
The scratch was indicative of their decisions not to re-sign, as the Sens want to forego any risk of them getting injured while they’re trying to trade them. This leaves Pierre Dorion, the Senators GM, with less than four days to make three massive deals.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Senators are currently in talks with the Columbus Blue Jackets on a trade centered on forward Matt Duchene.

The Athletic’s Aaron Portzline also reports that Blue Jackets prospect Vitaly Abramov could be included in the deal.
