The Minnesota Vikings have signed Stefon Diggs to a five-year contract extension Tuesday.

The extended deal will keep Diggs with the Vikings for the next six seasons and through the 2023 campaign.

According to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo the deal won’t be for the top of the market WR-money but will be relatively close.

“Stefon is a hard worker, man, he’s a guy that at first wasn’t labeled as one of the top receivers…” Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes said on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football Tuesday. “But now he’s showing his work. He’s showing he can catch the ball. He’s can run with the best, catch with the best, jump with the best, whatever. And he deserves to get paid with the best. I’m happy for him. We fight every day in practice. Go at it every day in practice, me, him, and [Adam] Thielen and the rest of the receivers. But him and Thielen being the leaders of that receiver corps, I fight with them guys the best so we can set an example for the younger guys.”

A fifth-round pick of the Vikings in the 2015 NFL Draft, Diggs has recorded 200 receptions for 2,472 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career. He set a career high with eight touchdowns in 2017, adding another 207 yards and a score in the Vikings’ two postseason games.
