On Wednesday, Virginia Tech suspended Chris Clarke indefinitely without any explanation. He was removed from the team’s official online roster just one week prior to the Hokies’ season opener.

The 6-foot-6 210-pound combo guard/ forward averaged 9.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game during his first three seasons. He was expected to move into the starting lineup this season.

Landers Nolley II will join P.J. Horne and Ty Outlaw to pick up for Clarke’s absence.

Virginia Tech opens the season Nov. 9 at home against Gardner-Webb.
