Whenever Michael Phelps is in the pool, you can usually expect a top three finish. However, in a recent meet, he turned in his worst performance since the 2000 Olympics. At a recent Pro Swim Series stop in Charlotte, Phelps placed 3rd, 7th, 9th, 9th, and 11th in his five events.
Phelps said he was frustrated, that he felt like his legs weren’t connected to his upper body, his dolphin kicks were “horrendous,” his freestyle stroke was “pretty garbage” and that he had to reassess “a bunch of stuff.”
