Papelbon Suspended 4 Games For His Fight With Harper

The Washington Nationals announced they have suspended Jonathan Papelbon for four games without pay for his role in the dugout altercation with his teammate Bryce Harper. Papelbon exchanged words with Harper and then tried to choke him.

The suspension will begin on Thursday after Papelbon first serves a three-game suspension by the MLB. Papelbon had been appealing the MLB suspension for intentionally throwing at Machado’s head last week but has since dropped the appeal. With only 7 games remaining this season, his team suspension will end Papelbon’s season.
