On Monday, WWE confirmed that music icon, Snoop Dogg will be inducted into the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame celebrity wing.
Other alumnis on the list include Pete Rose, Mike Tyson, Mr. T and many more. Snoop will be inducted alongside Sting, the Godfather, the Fabulous Freebirds, Big Boss Man, Jacqueline and Stan Hansen. The Ceremony will take place on April 2nd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Over the past Snoop Dogg has served as Master of Ceremonies for a “Lumberjill” match, guest hosted Raw and even joined forces with Hulk Hogan during last year’s Wrestlemania.
Following the news, Snoop thanked WWE for the honor:
Snoop has a unique connection to WWE. His cousin is former NXT Women’s champion and current Diva Sasha Banks. In an interview with Rolling Stone’s Kenny Herzog, Banks hinted that Snoop could have a role in her entrance at WrestleMania 32:
Maybe you should watch WrestleMania and you might see it, you never know! I don’t need someone to walk me to the ring every week and hold my hand like Charlotte does, but Snoop can make an appearance once in a while. Some people need their daddy to hold their hand and walk them down to the ring, which is fine. Some people need fire to have an entrance, which is OK. But I’m a Boss. I don’t need that stuff.
