A Padres Job Applicant Got Rejected, And She Sent A Funny But Nasty Response Letter To The Team

August 11, 2012 – Evan Stambaugh

A woman by the name of Taylor Grey Meyer had applied for a job with the San Diego Padres at least 30 times since she moved to the San Diego area. She has never gotten a job with them. So when the organization reached out with an offer for her to attend the Sports Sales Combine event held at their stadium (for the low price of $495!), Taylor exploded. Here are a couple excerpts from her response letter:

I realize I may be burning a bridge here, but in the spirit of reciprocity, I would like to extend you a counter-offer to s*** my d***. Clearly, I don’t have one of these, so my offer makes about as much sense as yours.

[…]

Maybe you’re right. Maybe I’m not the best fit for your company. But here’s a nice fit, my foot in your ass.

Upon receiving the letter, however, the Padres weren’t upset. One anonymous member of the Padres sales team said that “Taylor’s letter was too incredible for anyone to get offended.”

Oh, and of course the Padres forwarded the obscene response to everyone else in their office. Then those guys forwarded it to more people. Then finally, Taylor’s letter was forwarded in the sales offices of several professional sports organizations:

- The Cleveland Cavaliers
– The Lake Erie Monsters
– The Arizona Diamondbacks
– The New York Yankees
– The Houston Astros
– The Charlotte Bobcats
– The Miami Heat
– The Houston Dynamo
– The Miami Marlins
– The Miami Dolphins
– The Boston Red Sox
– The Chicago Cubs
– The New York Mets
– FC Dallas
– The Washington Nationals
– The Baltimore Orioles
– The Atlanta Falcons
– The Minnesota Vikings
– The Cincinnati Bengals
– The Cleveland Gladiators
– The Dayton Dragons
– The Kansas City Chiefs
