Back on Halloween, the Rockies’ Jose Reyes was arrested for an alleged domestic incident in Hawaii involving his wife. That investigation had been ongoing as spring training rolled around, so the Rockies placed Reyes on paid leave until things got ironed out.
Today, we are learning that the charge against Reyes has been dropped. The timing is ironic as the Rockies open up against the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Prosecutors will no longer pursue the case because Reyes’s wife, the alleged victim in the case, is no longer cooperating. Reyes pleaded not guilty to abusing a family or household member in November.
Reyes was arrested in Hawaii in October for allegedly grabbing his wife and shoving her into a sliding glass door at a hotel. His trial was scheduled to begin April 4.
