The Toronto Blue Jays are moving on to their second straight American League Championship Series appearance.

The Jays swept through the American League West champion Texas Rangers in the ALDS with a 7-6 victory thanks to Josh Donaldson’s wild dash from second base on an errant double play throw by Rangers infielder Rougned Odor.

Donaldson, with a sore hip, ran like a mad man before flinging himself headfirst at the plate.

“When you have 50,000 fans screaming it, kind of numbs the pain a little bit,” he said afterwards. “It gives you that little extra jolt of adrenaline.”

The Blue Jays became just the second team to walk off two playoff rounds in one season, joining the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks, who walked off the ALDS and World Series.

They will open the ALCS in either Cleveland or Boston on Friday night.
