Bryce Harper’s actions towards the umpire that ejected him a few nights ago drew an interesting reaction from Nats manager Dusty Baker. Baker wasn’t exactly thrilled with Harper returning to the field after being ejected, and hurling an F-bomb in the direction of the ump.
But it goes much deeper than that. Because he was ejected, Harper is not allowed to back on the field, but he chose to do so and celebrate the win with his teammates. The reigning MVP will file an appeal, as he’s also being fined an undisclosed amount of money. Ironically, this news broke during Bryce Harper Bobble Head Night at Nationals Park.
“I think the union, they’ll take care of that and figure out what happens,” Harper said after Wednesday’s 3-2 win. “I think the only person that I’m pretty upset that saw it was my mom. I told her, ‘Sorry.’ I texted her after the game. So I think those are certain things that just happen. You live and you learn. Nothing I can do.”
