The New York Mets very well could have ended up winning the World Series, but the destiny appeared to be on the side of the Kansas City Royals. Now that they have the winter off, Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson can get his body right. He underwent surgery on his left thumb, but is expected to be ready by spring training.
Granderson previously indicated that he suffered the injury on a slide in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series against the Chicago Cubs. He nonetheless produced three homers during the World Series against the Kansas City Royals.
