In spring training, Tigers ace Justin Verlander injured his triceps and was slated to start the season on the disabled list. The severity wasn’t initially thought to be too serious, but two months into the season and we haven’t seen him on the hill yet. But Verlander is finally healthy enough to give it a go as he’s set to make his season debut on Saturday for Detroit.
Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander will make his first start of the 2015 season on Saturday against the Cleveland Indians, the team told MLB.com Tuesday.
Verlander is coming off of a triceps injury he suffered during a spring training game against Toronto.
The Tigers placed the 32 year old on the disabled list on April 8 with triceps cramping. It was the first time in Verlander’s 11-year career – all with the Tigers – that the team had placed him on the DL.
