Ken Griffey, Jr. Inducted to HOF in Record Fashion

Ken Griffey

Ken Griffey, Jr. was one of the premier home run hitters in the 90s. For most of those guys in that category, there’s an asterisk, or very serious skepticism, around their merits. But luckily for Griffey, he’s excluded from that doubt.

What saved him was the fact that he was often injured in the 90s. Therefore, he was largely forgotten in the Steroid Era. Not saying he had reason to be lumped in regardless, but his injury status certainly helped his overall legacy in a weird back.

Today, Junior was inducted into the Hall of Fame with a higher percentage of votes than anyone else in the history of MLB.

Ken Griffey Jr. was elected into the Hall of Fame on Wednesday and broke Tom Seaver’s voting percentage record by receiving 99.32% of the vote.

Griffey Jr. received 437 of 440 votes. Seaver previously held the record by receiving 425 of 430 votes for a 98.84% finish.
