Once upon a time, Bryce Harper was said to be a stronger prospect than Mike Trout. Several years later, that couldn’t be any farther from the truth. But that’s no knock on Harper, though. He will be a very solid player for a very long time, provided he can stay healthy.
Each year, ESPN polls MLB players on a variety of topics. One such questions asks the players who they feel is the most overrated. Bryce Harper received a whopping 41% of that vote. Yasiel Puig was second, but you have to wonder how much of that has to do with the disdain some players have towards him for the hype. Do they really feel his skill set is weaker than expectations? Did they not see this bomb from training camp before they were polled, ha?
