The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Atlanta Braves 6-3 in tonight’s NL Wild Card Round to advance to the NLDS. However, the game did not go without controversy. There was an absurd call in the bottom of the eighth inning that could have easily set up a Braves rally. Andrelton Simmons popped the ball up into shallow left field, but it dropped into play when shortstop Pete Kozma misplayed it. The umps called an infield fly rule, even though it probably shouldn’t have been one. That call caused a protest from the Braves and made fans shower the baseball field with debris. Sorry Chipper Jones, but it sucks that your career had to end like this.
