Ventura Robbed After Car Accident

Yordano Ventura

Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura was robbed and left to die after his car accident in the Dominican Republic, but at his funeral, some potentially disturbing details emerged surrounding his fatal car accident.

Ventura’s mother is reportedly seeking an investigation into his death because according to reports from the Kansas City Star, Ventura was apparently robbed at the crash site of items such as cash, garments, his World Series ring and other valuables.

According to the website Ensegundo Ventura he “was found alive, but several people assaulted him instead of helping him, after suffering the fatal accident at kilometer 14 of the road Juan Adrian.”

Pedro Martinez, Ventura’s compatriot said “How outrageous to know that a life like Yordano’s could have been saved had it not been looted in the way they looted him.”

“Now it is more painful to know that Yordano was alive after the accident and instead of being rescued, they robbed him and let him die,” Martinez wrote.

Ventura was a fierce competitor. He went 14-10 with a 3.20 ERA in 2014, his first full season the league. The next year he helped the Royals reach the World Series for the first time since 1985.
