The Neveda State Athletic Commission has suspended Nick Diaz for five years over his third marijuana related offense. A lifetime ban was considered before a five year suspension was ultimately agreed upon. According to Skip Avansino, NSA commissioner, a five year ban is essentially a lifetime ban for him.
Diaz spoke to the media immediately after the hearing. (audio)
As expected Diaz was not pleased with the ruling and his lawyers plan to appeal.
Here are a few reactions from the sports world.

The Nick Diaz suspension will be overturned. If not, let's get a White House petition started. #FreeNickDiaz

Nick Diaz suspended five years for marijuana that's ridiculous. So that means steroid users get the death penalty correct!
