Tiger Woods Plane Spotted At Augusta, Will He Play The Masters Afterall?

woodsmastersTiger Woods hasn’t won a major since 2008. All the predictions that Woods may one day pass Jack Nicklaus’ record for Major wins seems further and further from the realm of possibility.

No further than just this February when Woods announced he was taking an indefinite leave of absence from the PGA tour in order to work on his game in solitude without the world watching.

But we are watching, and news is starting to circulate that Tiger Woods’ private jet has been spotted in Augusta. Not uncommon for players to come play Augusta in the week leading up to the tournament, should we assume Tiger is going to be playing in the Masters? If he came out on fire, it could set the internet on fire….literally.

A plane matching the tail numbers of Tiger Woods’ Gulfstream G5 was parked in front of the terminal for private aircraft at Augusta Regional Airport this morning.

Lauren Smith, Augusta Regional Airport communications manager, would not confirm whether Woods arrived with the plane, but said, “It’s not out of the norm for players to come the week before the tournament.” [via Augusta Chronicle]

Remember when Woods said when he left in February:

“My play, and scores, are not acceptable for tournament golf,” Woods said. “Like I’ve said, I enter a tournament to compete at the highest level, and when I think I’m ready, I’ll be back.”

Is it possible he thinks he’s ready? We certainly hope so…
