Chandler Parsons Won’t Need Surgery on Injured Left Knee

Breathe Memphis Grizzlies fans. Something is finally going right.

Sort of.

If everything were actually going right, Chandler Parsons, the team’s $94 million investment, would be fully healthy and on the court contributing. But he has appeared in just six games this season and been on the sidelines since Nov. 18 tending to a left knee injury.

Though he doesn’t seem to be expected back anytime soon, David Aldridge of NBA.com says he won’t require surgery to complete the healing process:

This is really great news when you think about it. The Grizzlies are already dealing with absences to Mike Conley, Vince Carter, Zach Randolph, Brandan Wright and a couple others. Losing Parsons for what could amount to months would be disastrous.

Then again, the Grizzlies are a resilient bunch, even when they’re shorthanded. They pulled off a double-overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night, which, given their current state, isn’t to be taken lightly.

Still, the sooner Parsons can get back, the better. Memphis’ offense needs him.
