Tristan Thompson Feels He Can Get Max From Raptors Next Summer

Tristan Thompson appears to be holding firm on his demands for more money. He reportedly turned down a 5-year, $80 million deal from the Cavs because he feels he deserves the max. He’s so set on that notion because he feels he can get that money from Toronto next summer. At what point does the paper chase become too much?

A league source tells me that his agent, Rich Paul, has already made it clear to the Cleveland Cavaliers that Thompson will not sign a long-term deal unless it is a max deal. And otherwise, he is prepared to sign a one-year qualifying offer with the additional knowledge, according to the source, that Paul believes that he can get a max deal with the Raptors next summer.
