The Denver Broncos are set to make a trip to the White House to meet President Obama, because of their Super Bowl title, but one key player will not be joining them. Aqib Talib will not make the trip, as he’s recovering from a gunshot would to the leg over the weekend.
Talib was shot in the lower right leg at a Dallas nightclub. He is expected to make a full recovery, but the investigation into what happened is underway. The team has, reportedly, not ruled out the possibility that Talib shot himself. More to come on the specifics.
Denver vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth tweeted Sunday afternoon that Talib is “doing OK.” The Broncos expect the three-time Pro Bowler to make a full recovery.
Talib only required stitches, and not surgery, according to ESPN.
