Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has been rumored to be on the hot seat for quite some time now. Sure, the Bengals make the playoffs somewhat regularly, but they don’t have any playoff wins to show for it. Not sure if that’s Marvin’s fault or the players’. Either way, the coach is always the one to go in that situation.
But not Marvin, as the team has signed him to a 1-year extension.
The Cincinnati Bengals announced a one-year contract extension for head coach Marvin Lewis.
Lewis is now signed through the 2016 season.
This is standard operating procedure for the Bengals. A year ago, Lewis signed a similar one-year extension through 2015. Unless the Bengals take a nosedive, it’s conceivable the coach will continue signing one-year extensions with the team every offseason for years to come.
