Upset by their loss to the Seahawks on Monday night, the Lions fans decided to voice their anger with a billboard bashing the refs. The group contacted OutFront Media and purchased seven billboards around the Detroit area. Each billboard reads “Blind to the bat” with a man dressed as a referee in sunglasses.
The Lions lost in part due to a controversial batting of the ball out of the end zone by K.J. Wright after Calvin Johnson fumbled while trying to score the game winning touchdown. Seattle was then given the ball. The NFL head of officials Dean Blandino admitted a penalty flag should have been thrown and the Lions should have retained the ball. Detroit lost 13-10.
There’s no guarantee the Lions would have won the game had the illegal batting been called but at least they could have tried.
The Lions have been the last remaining winless team in the NFL 8 times, the most of any team.

How can an entire NFL referee crew blow a call that decides a Monday Night Football game??? Such a bad look for the league.

Of all the NFL black eyes in the past year, this is one of biggest…how can officials in America's most powerful league not know the rules?

Former NFL referee Gerry Austin says it should have been an illegal bat by KJ Wright in the end zone. Ball should have went back to Detroit.
