The Philadelphia Eagles have many holes. They’ll need some time to undo what Chip Kelly did in less than three years on the job.
That healing process begun in free agency and will continue in the draft. As of right now, Sam Bradford if the future for the team at the Quarterback position. Well, actually, he’s the immediate future, since he signed just a 2-year deal with the team.
The Eagles select 8th in this year’s draft and may potentially look at selecting a QB. But if either Carson Wentz or Jared Goff are already gone by the time Philly’s pick rolls around at 8, look for them to select Ezekiel Elliott out of Ohio State. Eagles brass are reportedly “in love” with his talent. And he could certainly help fill a hole on that roster.
If the Eagles stay at No. 8, and especially if two quarterbacks are gone by then as widely expected, then I continue to hear running back Ezekiel Elliott is the pick. They are in love with him, they have done extensive work on him, they have parted with accomplished veteran running backs LeSean McCoy and DeMarco Murray the past two years, they need an identity on offense and they are going to be limited at the quarterback position no matter who wins the job. So a run game is imperative. This kid has a top-10 skill set and is plug-and-play and I don’t see him getting past Miami at No. 12.
