Being a quarterback in New York can’t be easy. Geno Smith can attest to this as not many have confidence in him being the longterm starter for the Jets. He’s only been in the league for two years, but he’s already being written off. So much so that he will reportedly have to fight for his job in training camp. Also, the Jets have not ruled out drafting a QB in the draft.
Citing sources close to the Jets, ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported on Sundaythat general manager Mike Maccagnan “hasn’t ruled out” trading up for a quarterback in this year’s draft. Bleacher Report NFL insider Jason Cole reported on Monday that the Jets “want to move on” from Smith, who is “not the guy.”
