The NFL reinstated Josh Gordon but he is not physically ready to make his return to the practice field. He is being sidelined by a quad injury. Seriously. He reported to camp with the bum wheel and it came out during the physical. Gordon won’t be ready to go for a few weeks before we see him reunite with his former college teammate, Robert Griffin III.
The Browns receiver was conditionally reinstated by the NFL on Monday — more than a week ahead of schedule — but will now miss the first couple weeks of camp with a quad injury suffered during a summer workout.
Added to the 90-man roster on Tuesday morning, Gordon reported to training camp in Berea shortly thereafter and failed his physical because of the lingering injury. He was placed on the active/non-football injury list, meaning he can’t take part in on-field activities until he passes his physical.
