Robert Griffin III’s spiral continues. After being knocked out of a preseason game a few weeks ago, he has now lost his starting QB job to Kirk Cousins. In a press conference today, Washington head coach Jay Gruden stated that the Skins are now “Kirk’s team.” Griffin may even serve as third string behind Colt McCoy. Griffin barely had a chance to actually prove himself with on-field game action before this decision was made.
Gruden confirmed at his Monday press conference that Cousins will start, and it’s not a short-term thing. Gruden said Cousins in the starter “for 2015, moving forward.”
“It’s Kirk’s team,” Gruden said.
