Browns Confirm Manziel Skipped Team Meeting Sunday Morning

Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Browns may soon come to an end.

QB Manziel, who is currently under the league’s concussion protocol, was spotted gambling in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Players in the concussion protocol are not required to be at the game or on the sidelines, but it’s still not a good look for the already-troubled quarterback.

On Sunday morning, Manziel did not show up for a scheduled meeting in Berea with the team doctor and according to Sports Illustrated was unreachable by phone. The Cleveland Browns have refused to comment on media reports that he was spotted in Vegas, but owner Jimmy Haslam confirmed that he failed to report to a meeting.

The Cleveland Browns fired head coach Mike Pettine and general manager Ray Farmer after Sunday’s loss. Manziel’s future with the team remains unclear, though reports state the Browns are “done” with the 2014 first-round pick. Rumor has it that the former Heisman Trophy winner wants to go to the Dallas Cowboys.
