Longtime Vikings mascot, Ragnar, has just been let go from the team after a long 20 years with the team. Apparently Ragnar was asking $20,000 per game over the next 10 years. Basically that’s $160,000 plus the possibility of playoff games. Not bad for four hours of work on some Sundays throughout the season. Unfortunately for him, the Vikings front office didn’t agree. At the end of the day, is any mascot really worth that much money?
According to Star Tribute reporter Michael Rand, the Vikings then released the following statement explaining that his contract had expired:
