At the time of the acquisition, Roger Goodell had not yet handed down the punishment on Hardy for his alleged involvement. Today, we learn that Dallas will be out Greg Hardy for the first 10 games of the season. He has been suspended without pay.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy for the first 10 games of the 2015 regular season Wednesday in a letter that warned another similar violation of the personal conduct policy could result in banishment from the league.
A person with knowledge of the situation, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation, told USA TODAY Sports that Hardy would “immediately” appeal the suspension, which comes 2½ months after domestic violence charges against him were dropped.
