No Timetable for Colin Kaepernick’s Return

At this point, it doesn’t appear that Colin Kaepernick will be traded to the Broncos, or anywhere else for that matter. Since he’ll be on the 49ers’ roster next season, it begs the question: who will be the QB? Blaine Gabbert played ok after Kaepernick was benched, but Colin may fit more with what Chip Kelly wants to do with the offense.

If Kap is going to try and impress his head coach, he’ll have to wait and he hasn’t been cleared for football activity following offseason surgeries on his left shoulder, right thumb and left knee. That’s alot for a QB to endure in a career, let alone a single offseason. This QB battle will likely drag into the preseason.

Per San Francisco’s offensive coordinator, Curtis Modkins:

“I think what’s important he gets cleared when he’s healthy…There’s no timetable.”
