RGIII left last night’s preseason tune up vs. Detroit very early in the 1st quarter after he was sacked and ultimately knocked out of the game with a concussion. This is a make-or-break year for a guy who has been touted as a franchise savior. But this latest injury can’t be put on him. The pockets collapsed very quickly and he had nowhere to hide. The offensive line needs to do a better job of keeping him upright.
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III suffered a concussion in Thursday’s preseason game against the Detroit Lions when he was hit while attempting to recover a fumble, coach Jay Gruden said.
Gruden said he was unsure when Griffin would be able to return to action but would be the team’s starter when healthy. The fourth-year signal-caller will have to go through the league’s concussion protocol before he is cleared for action.
“We’ll have to wait, go through the whole process, see how he recovers, see how fast he recovers,” Gruden said in his postgame news conference.
