Usually when an NFL team nearly goes 16-0, but suffers their first loss near the end of the season, the coach brushes off the first loss of the season and is focused on the playoffs. However, Panthers head coach Ron Rivera sees it differently following Sunday’s loss to the Falcons. 14-1 doesn’t sit too well with him, as he really wanted to chase perfection for his guys. Even so, this team has really outperformed expectations.
“I’m disappointed for our guys,” Rivera said a day after a 20-13 loss at Atlanta dropped the Panthers to 14-1 and ended an 18-game regular-season winning streak. “It would have been great for our guys to have been able to do something like that and make it special.
