Richard Sherman has been widely regarded as the best cover corner in the NFL for quite some time, but last year he was exposed quite a bit. He didn’t exactly look untouchable in certain scenarios. He’s only 29, so it’s not as if he’s falling off, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
But who knows what Seattle brass thinks? Pete Carroll and company are reportedly listening to offers for Sherman. But Sherman aside, the entire Seattle different doesn’t feel quite as stifling as it has in years past? Is it time to shake things up in the Pacific Northwest?
“You’re either competing or you’re not. And so we’ve always had to be open for everything, every suggestion that comes along,” Carroll said. “There have been some teams that have called, and so we’ve talked about it. But he’s extremely important to our football team.
“I don’t see anything happening at all. And I don’t see anything happening with any other players, just the banter that’s out there right now. But it has been talked about. He’s a great player and can impact another team. I can see why people would be interested in him.”
