Week 15 Power Rankings

admin December 12, 2012 NFL 1 Comment on Week 15 Power Rankings

New England tops the power rankings

Texans and Falcons were both exposed…Patriots surged.

New England Patriots (10-3)

They beat down on the Texans.  A lot of things went there way, but don’t know if it would have made a difference.  Scoring and defense is improving.  Scary.

Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos (10-3)

They are beating up on the teams they get to play.  Ravens game is the first real measuring stick they have had since week 5.  They are hot, but might be more smoke and mirrors than anything else.

Houston Texans

Houston Texans (11-2)

Defense was abused and the offense played scared.  Too many mistakes and penalties to win a legit big test road game.  Now they have to hold off the Colts and Pats for a Division and #1 seed.

Atlanta Falcons (11-2)

All those close call games where you wondered if the were really good or lucky.  Well Carolina handed them quite a reality check.

New York Giants (8-5)

Monster game on offense and special teams.  The defense is giving up big yards though.  Beating the Falcons would be a great step in a quest for the NFC East.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers (9-3-1)

Close game in the 4th quarter against a tough Miami team.  Blew it open late on one big play.

Green Bay Packers (9-4)

So much for that early season crack in the armor.  Poised for another NFC North title.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens (9-4)

Another game where the defense couldn’t hold a lead.  Cam Cameron is fired as the OC…interesting to see what happens this week in a big AFC battle.

Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts (9-4)

Andrew Luck played poorly against the Titans – luckily the Titans threw the game away.  Real test against the Texans next week.

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals (7-6)

Failing to close out a game against Dallas when they have Pitt and Baltimore left could cost them a playoff spot.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks (8-5)

58-0 — well that didn’t go well for the Cardinals did it? If they don’t win the West and have to travel in the 1st round does anyone think they will win?

Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears (8-5)

The collapse of a once promising season is nearly complete.

Washington Redskins

Washington Redskins (7-6)

RGIII paid the price for one of those big hits…they pulled out the win, but his knee is a concern.  Can he play out the stretch.

Dallas Cowboys (7-6)

Huge win against the Bengals. Came back, ran a solid 2 minute drill, and kept their playoff hopes alive.

Tampa Bay Bucs (6-7)

Their season is over after allowing the Eagles to celebrate a miracle comeback.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6)

Steelers have Dallas, Cinci, and the Browns left….can they win 2 of those games?

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings (7-6)

Big win against the Bears keeps their playoff dreams alive.  AP is just a monster this season.

New York Jets

New York Jets (6-7)

Ugly…yes.  Win…yes.  Three winnable games left…does Braylon Edwards do anything to help Sanchez?

St. Louis Rams

St. Louis Rams (6-6-1)

They have a chance to not have a losing season.  Jeff Fisher has to view that as a success.

Tennessee Titans

San Diego Chargers (5-8)

I give them credit for battling Pittsburgh and taking home a win.  Not enough to save Norv Turner’s job.

New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints (5-8)

Drew Brees picked a wrong time to implode….sounds like last week’s note.

Buffalo Bills (5-8)

Fred Jackson’s disappointing season is over with a knee injury – just like the rest of that team.

Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns (5-8)

They just keep on winning!  Not an easy out and they might get to play spoiler.

Arizona Cardinals

Miami Dolphins (5-8)

Once again they battled against a good team and once again they lose.  They need to find a way to close out games.

Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans (4-9)

They had the Colts. It was over.  You can’t throw a pick 6 from your 3 yard line and you can throw another pick when you are driving for a score at the end of the game.

Carolina Panthers (4-9)

So that is what the fans in Carolina were supposed to be seeing all season?

Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions (4-9)

What a sad state of affairs football has become in Detroit.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-9)

Nick Foles had the fans in Philly forgetting about Michael Vick.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-11)

Henne was playing some solid ball for three weeks, but against the Jets he looked lost.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs (2-11)

Got blown out by the surging Browns but at least Charles is still putting out effort.

Oakland Raiders (3-10)

This team was supposed to be good.  They were supposed to challenge.  They looked like neither against the Broncos.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals (4-9)

0-58….awful.  Poor Larry.

I agree 100 about all of the rankings you have. Number 1 and 2 will stay the same for the remainder of the season and the Pats vs Denver will be the AFC championship game…. Check out
