Daniel Sedin has had an impressive career and rarely misses with a goalie in nets, but last night he blew his chance to score on a wide-open net. Unfortunately for the Vancouver Canucks star, this is one he won’t easily forget.
"It happened so quick, you just try to tap it in and it took a weird bounce. That's a tough one" – Daniel Sedin #Canucks

Prior to Daniel Sedin missing his shot, his brother Henrik Sedin was denied by Edmonton Oilers goaltender Anders Nilsson on a breakaway. With the game tied 1-1, the puck rebounded in front of a wide open cage where Daniel Sedin chipped it over the bar and failed to capitalize on this opportunity.
The missed goal by Daniel Sedin failed to put Vancouver ahead of the Oilers in the third period and eventually cost them the game in overtime.
Daniel Sedin has won both the Art Ross Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award before. Unfortunately for him, it doesn’t matter how talented you are, open net misses can happen to anyone in the league.
