The race for Rasmus Dahlin, the presumptive No. 1 pick in the NHL’s draft, will reach the finish line April 28th.
The lottery draft picks will be a little different this year, as the top three picks won’t be revealed until Saturday’s second intermission of Game 2 between the San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights.
Picks No. 15 through No. 4 will be announced during the pregame show around 7:30PM Eastern Time.
The Buffalo Sabres have the highest odds of securing the first overall pick because they had the league’s worst record this season, but remember, the NHL’s anti-tank odds allocation means nothing is guaranteed. The biggest “loser,” aka the Sabres, have only an 18.5 percent at picking first overall and a 50/50 shot at falling out of the top three all together.
The 2018 NHL Draft will take place in Dallas on June 22nd.
