This wasn’t just an ordinary game.

Last night P.K. Subban played in the Bell Centre for the first time since being traded to the Nashville Predators. It was an emotional night for him prior to the puck being dropped, the Canadiens organization put together a touching video tribute that was played to a standing ovation prior to the start of the game.

Since being traded, speculation’s have swirled as to why P.K., who was clearly a fan favorite, didn’t fit in the their future plans. Still, despite his shocking exit, Subban was moved by his return to the Bell Center.

“It’s a first-class organization, so I’d expect nothing less,” Subban told reporters postgame.

He was visibly overcome with emotion, shedding tears while he saluted the crowd.

“All those memories come back, whether it’s stuff to do with the hospital or kids, family, teammates, whatever it is,” Subban said. “I felt that I shared that with all the fans and the community here, I guess that’s how it all came out.”

Unfortunately for Subban, the predators loss to 2-1 to the Habs. He assisted on Nashville’s only goal of the night.
