Head coach Mike Sullivan has announced that Sidney Crosby will miss game 4 due to a concussion he suffered after a hit to the head from Matt Niskanen.

Niskanen’s stick connected with Crosby’s head during the first period. At the time, Crosby had been knocked off balance by an Alex Ovechkin high stick to his upper body. Niskanen will not face any further discipline from the league.

“(Crosby is) very upbeat and positive,” Sullivan said. “We’re very optimistic and hopeful we’ll have him back in a timely fashion.”

Game 4 is set for Wednesday in Pittsburgh with the Penguins holding a 2-1 series lead.
