Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will not practice on Wednesday due to back soreness and will not be playing against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. There is also talk that he may not play again this season.
Wentz dealt with a back injury earlier in the season. The team believed it was under control, but it flared up again this week. The back injury is the latest in a string of issues for Wentz, who played through a rib injury early in his rookie campaign and suffered a season-ending ACL tear last December.
Backup Nick Foles, who quarterbacked the Eagles to a victory in Super Bowl LII, will likely be called upon if Wentz can’t suit up against the Rams. Foles completed 54 of 82 passes for 451 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his two starts this season.
