Just went it seemed like the California Golden Bears were gaining a little momentum heading into the second half of Thursday night’s game, UCLA kicker, Ka’imi Fairbairn broke a school record with a 60 yard field goal to give the Bruins a 26-10 lead.
Ka’imi Fairbairn’s first attempted a 55-yard field goal but because of a UCLA illegal procedure, a false start penalty, he was moved back another 5 yards. As time was running out in the first quarter Ka’imi Fairbairn hit the 60 yarder, the second longest field goal in Pac-12 history. Here is a look at Ka’imi Fairbairns’ field goal:
Martin Gramatica had previously set the NCAA record of 65 yards while playing for Kansas State in 1998.
